Beyond The Box

The cartridges dropped into a ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' box can end up in so many places.  The steel in a fridge, the eWood in a park bench, the plastic in a ruler and the ink in a roller ball pen could have all been a printer cartridge in a previous life. While about half of the laser cartridges end up back with their original maker to be re-manufactured back into cartridges.

The ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program is an example of an effective extended producer responsibility program.  The cost of collecting, transporting, and recycling the cartridges, as well as promoting the program, is paid for by the participating equipment manufacturers - Brother, Canon, Epson, Konica Minolta and Lexmark.

Visit the pages on this site to find out how the cartridges are processed and recycled, where to drop off the cartridges you use at home, to find out if your workplace is eligible for a collection box and more.

You can also watch the TV promo that shows what your cartridges become and where to drop them off.
