Post Back Your Post Packs

Have you ever stood at the bin wondering whether something goes in the garbage or the recycling? You’re not alone! Our research shows that confusion is one of main reasons recyclables end up in the garbage and contaminants, like plastic bags, end up in the recycling.
The Australian Recycling Label has been designed by Planet Ark to clear up that confusion and we’re happy to say Australia Post has joined the growing list of businesses displaying the label.
Post Back Post Packs
Australia Post has established a new Mailing Satchel Recycling Program that provides a recycling option for many of their envelopes that can’t go in the home recycling bin. Express Post, Parcel Post, Flat Rate Satchels and Padded Bags can now be posted back to TerraCycle who will arrange for them to be recycled into new products, free of charge.
The satchels all display the Australian Recycling Label so that customers, just like you, will know exactly what to do with them. Find out more about the program and remember to post back your post packs.
The Growing Label Family
The Australia Post Satchels are just the latest in a growing family of products that carry the Australian Recycling Label (ARL).
Officeworks has been rolling the ARL out on more and more of their products. In fact, there are now about 500 individual Officeworks products with the ARL. These products join Blackmores and T2 Tea, which are already widely available with the ARL across the country.
The Australian Recycling Label is different to other recycling symbols displayed on products as it is underpinned by an evidence based tool, the Packaging Recyclability Eligibility Portal (PREP), which examines the technical recyclability and access to collection services for all of the components of a pack.
Find out more about the ARL and keep an eye out as it starts to appear on more shelves.
