Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' is part of a kerbside recycling revolution in the Northern Rivers of NSW. A state of the art Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and a satchel are set to transform Lismore into a model of sustainability. The $3.65 million MRF will process up to 15,000 tonnes of recycleables per year.

Lismore City Council has introduced specially marked Resource Recovery Collection Satchels for the recycling of problem waste. Materials collected include printer cartridges (for the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program), mobile phones (for MobileMuster), household batteries, CDs, DVDs, reading glasses and small electronics. Households simply place the full satchel into their yellow-lidded kerbside collection bin.

For those not in Lismore, printer cartridges can also be dropped off for recycling in ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' collection boxes located at all Officeworks and JB Hi-Fi stores and participating Australia Post, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, The Good Guys, and Office National outlets. To find a collection bin near you visit or call the Cartridges Hotline on 1800 24 24 73.

Workplaces may also be eligible for a free collection box.
