Mobile Phone Recycling

Mobile Muster Poster © Lucy Band

Due to the success of MobileMuster trials in Sydney and Melbourne, all businesses across Australia can now recycle mobile phones, chargers and accessories in their ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' collection box.

How to Recycle

To recycle your old mobile, it's battery, charger and other accessories all you need to do is drop them into your 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' box, making sure the battery is either still connected to the handset or if not the points are taped*. It's as simple as that.

When the collection box is full of cartridges and/or mobiles take the bag out, seal it with the cable ties provided and then return it through your usual method. Please ensure the weight of the bag still remains around 16kgs.

* For safety reasons please ensure your battery is either connected to its handset when you recycle it, or if you are just recycling the battery please tape over the contacts so they can't come in contact with anything else in the box.

Promoting This New Service to Colleagues

To help you promote this new, free service to your colleagues we have developed a range of promotional resources that you can download below. They include MobileMuster stickers to go on the collection box, an e-flyer to e-mail out and posters to put up around the office.

Stickers

For businesses outside the trial area MobileMuster stickers to go on your collection box and brochures will be sent out with your next delivery of new bags (Consumables Pack), however, if you want your sticker sooner please call 1800 24 24 73.

For businesses within the trial area who don’t have a MobileMuster sticker on their box or brochures, please contact 1800 24 24 73 to order them now.

Round Up You Old Mobiles and Recycle Them at Work

[Greeting]

We are happy to announce that you can now recycle your old mobile phones through our ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' collection box. You can recycle your broken and unused mobiles, including batteries*, chargers and other accessories.

This is because the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program and MobileMuster, the official recycling program of the mobile phone industry, have teamed up to make recycling printer cartridges and mobile phones easier.

Research shows that most Australian homes have at least one old mobile stashed away in a draw - and some have 4 or 5. If that's you, why not empty out that draw and bring your old and unused mobiles in to work and recycle them? You can also bring your used printer cartridges form home and drop them in the box for recycling.

Both the cartridges and mobile phones are recycled to the highest environmental standards. To find out how the mobiles are recycled go to http://mobilemuster.com.au. None are resold for reuse.

Our ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' box is located [insert location].

If the box is full please notify [name, position] on [number].

Or visit http://Cartridges.PlanetArk.org or call 1800 24 24 73 to find out how to arrange the return of the cartridges.

For additional Promotional Material, visit the 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' Workplace pages and the MobileMuster Posters page.

Data Security

If you're concerned about the personal information stored on your phone, it's easy to remove it before you send your phone for recycling. For information on how to complete this simple process click here. Additionally all mobile phones and sim cards handed in to MobileMuster for recycling are completely destroyed during the recycling process.
